The sunny weather provided a gorgeous backdrop for the ride into the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires yesterday. Damario enjoyed the view all the way as he lead the peloton past the finish line. This marks his 5th career victory, 25th result, and it tallied the 100th result for the team! Over the last three prosperous days, which featured results of 2nd, 6th, and now 1st, the entire team, less Wryen, gathered to celebrate in Grytviken for some much needed R&R.
It's been a fantastic start to season 18, with Luveaucek already netting 2 victories and 7 results in only 35 days. Wryen's vigorous training schedule has run smoothly, for the most part, and now the teams' lead out train boasts 5 riders fully trained in sprinting. The upcoming week will be another busy one for them with races in Italy, South Africa, and England on tap.
The climbers will soon be off to Spain to participate in the inaugural edition of the Vuelta de los Castillos, after a brief visit to Madrid. Desmond will be the undisputed captain during the tour, with a climbing focused squad, but the team may be in questionable form due to the hard climbs of Albacete earlier in the week.
Wryen, busy with the CoN races, commented "Whatever they do is fine by me, as long as they do it together."
